MSI/ERP for a North American computer manufacturer and distributor with revenue over USD$600 million.
After spending over a year failed to implement an Oracle® system to manage its North American distribution business in it's Headquarter and warehouse locations in California, the company contacted MSI for consultation. Since the MSI/ERP has been successfully in use in their Canadian & Eastern U.S.A. (NY, NJ) locations for more than two years, MSI was a trustworthy and proven partner to consult on an unified and integrated solution for North American wide.
After a detailed needs analysis and meeting with Oracle Consultant, the company realized that the MSI/ERP is more cost effective and provides all the functions they needed to manage their business and future expansion.
Due to urgent need of a new system, the companies agreed to a multi million dollar multi year hosted solution. After spending next few weeks of developing a data conversion program to convert existing data to the new MSI/ERP system, and user training, the company sucessfully switched over to the new system over a weekend for it's five warehouse locations (from east coast to west coast) simultaneously.
The multi-user, real-time MSI/ERP system was able to provide timely reports to management for fast paced business environment. At the end of 3-year hosting agreement, the company purchased license to host the server in-house to reduce the cost of hosting and communication link to the external data center.

Using the modules of our Financial Accounting System and master database as fundation, our development team built a customized Freight Management System (FMS) for a global Freight Forwarder & Logistics company. The system successfully supported the company's rapid growth from 30 offices to over 100 offices worldwide in few short years.
After spending over two years failed attempt to develop a Freight Management System in-house to replace an existing aging system, the successful growing company contacted MSI for consultation and review of existing development and provide recommendations.
Based on interview with the client's IT staff & management and review of the project, it was agreed that the development tools and platform used by the company contained critical bugs which the tool provider can not resolve. The system in development lacked performance required by the fast paced nature of Freight Forwarder business environment. This is a typical case of a company using bleeding-edge technology before it's time.
A new team was put together with MSI responsible for the application design & development and overall platform & info-structure design, and the company's internal MIS team responsible for local platform support, user training & implementation with guidance from MSI. The new Freight Management System was built based on existing MSI/FAS (Financial Accounting System) framework with business knowledge input from key contact from company's business units, thru intensive development effort we were able to complete the development and sucessfully rolled out to 30 offices worldwide in 9 months. Due to rapid growth of the company, the new system was able to easily scaled to support over 100 offices worldwide in just few short years.
The new Freight Management System was meeting the day-to-day needs of the company's operation as well as ad hoc reporting needs from customers. A central data warehouse was developed and implemented to provide centralized shipment tracking & tracing for it's global customers.
The new Freight Management System has built-in function to provide localization of graphic user interface (GUI) layer to display screens in local language and accept double-byte Unicode local language input such as Chinese, Korean, and Japanese in addition to other single-byte European languages.
